- The first step on the way to a knowledge management strategy is for us to gain a full understanding of your organisation, how it works, its aims and objectives.
To obtain this information we will arrange a convenient meeting with your chief decision maker – usually your managing director or senior management team. This will provide a basis for our plan of action that will change how you use information and apply knowledge within your company.
- This is followed by an audit of the information currently held within your company. To carry out the audit we will interview all staff – at a convenient time that minimises any disruption to daily operations.
Such interviews will allow us to discover the information that your employees need to do their work and how they collect, store and use information in their daily routine. We will also determine their perception of how well they are kept informed about the business.
- The third step is to identify key areas where an improvement in communication or more effective ways of sharing information could make the company more efficient and profitable. At this stage we will also identify any gaps or problems with existing communication procedures.
- Finally we will work closely with your company as it introduces systems and procedures - including the introduction or enhancement of ICT (information and communications technology). Ultimately, this will allow the entire company to benefit from its existing knowledge and sharing information will become normal practice throughout the company.
